Winning: win by surrounding the opponent's
Queen (bee), like in the image in the side.
Placing pieces on the board: You first start placing your "off-board" pieces (in the top for player #1, in the bottom for player #2) on the board. Select the piece to place in the off-board area (they are highlighted with yellow dotted-lines), and then click on the position on any of the highlighted positions on the board. Except for the first piece, you can only place pieces next to your already placed pieces and not touching any opponent's pieces. You can place pieces at any point as a standard move if you still have pieces off-board.
The Queen Bee:
At the latest, it has to be your 4th piece to place. And you can't move your pieces on the board until
you moved your Queen!
Moving: Each piece moves differently: no worries, the game will highlight the pieces that you can move and their valid target locations (again with a yellow dotted-line border). Remember you can only start moving pieces once your Queen bee is on the board.
Never break the hive! One rule that applies to all pieces is that the hive can never be broken: all pieces on board must be touching another piece. You can never place a piece or make a move that would disconnect a piece. You can use this to lock pieces in place.
No squeezing: There are some scenarios where there is a small open space, but not big enough for a piece to squeeze through.
Pieces don't squeeze through positions, even if otherwise would be a valid move. The exceptions are the Beetle
and the Grasshopper
that can move over pieces.
Play a few games, and you'll quickly figure out how the 5 different pieces move!
